I've read so much talk about channels, technology, content and context.
We've debated brand centricity, user centricity and community centricity ad nauseum.
All of these are aspects of a single marketing strategy: user experience marketing.
Think about it.
Technology + Channel + Interaction + Community + User + whatever ever else you want to add = User Experience.
Ads traditionally live AROUND the user experience.
We (marketers) want to live WITHIN the experience.
We want to be welcome as part of the user experience.
This is where the future will be, regardless of the channel, user or technology.
So is 2008 going to be about wholesale user experience or personalization?
